Theme Manager?

I've been trying to figure out the right procedure for installing Theme Manager and/or MyColors. From what I've read of Theme Manager, it's like a "MyColors Plus" and so I figured I wouldn't need both apps. However, when I tried to download the free themes without installing MyColors, I got a confusing warning message that requested a registration number. I couldn't figure out which registration number it wanted or where to get it, so I figured it would be easier to just install MyColors.

However, installing both Theme Manager and MyColors was tricky: Impulse reported errors when I verified the installations. It seemed to work OK if I installed MyColors first, then Theme Manager, then the themes. However, I still run into trouble if I try to install the Think Green theme too. Maybe it conflicts with the version that comes with MyColors?

Anyway, I'm kind of at a loss here. I'm not sure which things I should be installing or in what order. Any help would be appreciated.

The registration prompt is being looked into.  The theme is looking for the MyColors app and isn't finding it . . and instead of saying "Go install MyColors" it's asking for registration.

In Impulse, click on the Orb, then Preferences, then [Reset data].  See if that doesn't fix any issues with verifying installations.

I installed MyColors (which came with Think Green), then Theme Manager, then the free Quest dream.  Both themes applied well using either My Colors or Theme Manager.

Do you have otehr customization software installed?  Like Windowblinds?

On my work machine, I started with just Fences and ObjectDock Plus loaded. I installed Theme Manager, then tried to install Think Green but hit the prompt issue. I then installed MyColors, but it failed verify. I uninstalled MyColors, which surprisingly also uninstalled Theme Manager.

After that, I switched to the order you used: MyColors, Theme Manager, themes. That worked OK except for the conflict between the MyColors and Think Green packages.

On my home machine, I started with Fences, ObjectDock Plus, and Object Desktop Ultimate (except DeskScapes). I uninstalled Theme Manager and then followed the good installation order: MyColors, Theme Manager, Quest, Diamond. I installed the Diamond theme, which is working great so far.

It looks like there's an installation order dependency issue between MyColors & Theme Manager, so it might be nice to make that more clear. In fact, it would've helped me a lot just to see the difference between the apps explained, and which I need to do what.

Anyway, thanks for your advice!
