Dreamscape problem

I'm having a problem running dreamscapes in Windows XP Pro SP 3.  This happens on my work computer and my home computer.  The dreamscene will work fine for a while, about an hour or 2, then I will have a problem were windows explorer stops responding.  After this all the dreamscenes disappear.  All I have is a black background.  When I right click and pause the dreamscene, it reappears for a second, then disappears again.  Same thing occurs when I resume. 

I've found that if I change the windows background to none and then pick a dreamscene it runs fine.  As soon as I click on anything on the desktop it disappears again.  Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I am running fences and all of the object desktop ultimate programs, minus the vista only ones.  Thank you.
