refineries
How do you get the most out of refineries ?
In a nutshell.. build 3 on a planet that has direct links to another 3-4. That'll max out your resource income on all those planets ![]()
is the same true with trade ports? or close to it
Nope. It's this way for refineries because they only have a range of 1 jump, and each resource extractor can only support 3 refinery ships (each refinery structure makes 1 ship for each mine in range).
Trade ports have no jump limitation and no upper cap, and get a bonus to their output along the longest uninterrupted chain. So basically, feel free to put them everywhere and you'll keep getting more and more money.
Thanks that helps, i put trade port on every plante, and us to put refineries buy asteroids, so I guess i was lost a alot of $ evert time i played
thanks again
Near 3 systems, Even so the refinery output was terrible. It wasn't worth the crystal. I don't have the patience to run test cases. Any details on how they might be worth the cost in research, build and occupied logistic slots?
Should be noted that the Advent "refinery" is practically useless. Because it doesn't service other extractors outside the gravity well, you almost always get more resources just by keeping it a trade port and buying from the black market with your excess money. If you have all the resource focus upgrades, it's marginally useful, but defiintely not worth spending the money on the upgrades. Only use I've found for resource focus is to disable trade ports if they're interfering with my longest trade route.
In regular Sins, I remember that 'empty' region (IE: Asteroid fields, magnetic clouds) were ignored for purposes of Trade / Refinery links. As of Entrenchment, this no longer seems to be the case.
