Windowblinds questions

A few questions

1 - If I purchase an online copy can I use it to install on my PC and Laptop? or is it single use only?

2 - What is the upgrade policy if you purchase? IE is it one year of free updates, life, or other?

1. Yes, and if (heaven forbid) you crash and burn, you can reinstall during that year. If you lose the software after one year, you get the software you bought subscription to during that original year.

2. Updates for one year. Subscription to Stardock software is on a yearly basis.

Actually DrJHBL you are confusing OD with standalone products.

If you buy WB standalone then yes you can install it on your own laptop & PC.  If you lose the download file then you can get the download links via the serial lookup system which would mail you new links.

On standalone products updates are provided until the next major release.

So had you purchased WB 5.0 back in November 2005 then you would have got 5.01, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5 as free updates but not 6.0 which would have required an upgrade fee of $15 when it came out in late 2007.

Purchases within a certain amount of time of a new major release would get an upgrade to the new major release free.

If instead you purchase it as part of ObjectDesktop (49.95 or 69.95) then DrJHBL is correct about it being one years worth of updates.

Doc. . close, but not quite.

1. The license allows you to install it on all PCs you own.  You can only use WB on one PC at a time though.

2. Your license is good until the next major version #  (https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=116&nav=0,1,37,38)

A subscription to Object Desktop (which includes WB) is more what DrJBHL is describing.

one last question - where the heck is the purchasable  digital download? On the website when you click to add it to your cart - it moves you to the Mailed copy. I would rather purchase it online and save the Duty and GST .... is there a link to an online digital download instead of getting it mailed?

Windows 7 is still in beta which is why it is not supported at this time.

As for making a Windows 7 compatible version, you will be pleased to hear that such a version is in development and I believe a screenshot of it working on Windows 7 has been posted in these forums.
