Impulse hanging at Login

Never had any problems with Impulse so far (well ok, the installation path problem in the early days...)

 

But just now something different happened. I got a box asking if I want to restart Impulse as non-admin. Never got that before. Fair enough, restart.

Login screen - er, what? Never seen that before. Ok, maybe the switch from admin to non-admin messed something up. I enter my login, 'ok' and ... nothing. Minutes later Impulse is still 'verifying'.

 

Ok, I say, I only recently uninstalled SDC, maybe THAT messed something up. Uninstalled Impulse as well and reinstalled from a fresh download.

 

Login screen, I enter my details and ... nothing.

The communication with the Stardock server can't be completely broken because a 'request password' indeed did result in an email with my login and registrations. Although even then Impulse was shown as 'not responding'.

 

 

So, basically, I can't login as Impulse hangs at the verifying stage. Any ideas?

(Other than the re-install, nothing changed, in particular nothing concerning firewalls, routers, etc. And Impulse was working just fine before.)

Addendum: Same behaviour when running explicitly with administrator privileges. Certificates are installed and valid, no errorlog gets written that could point me in the right direction.

Alright, it took approx. 8 minutes, but I'm at least getting the Impulse window - which is of course still trying to log in.

 

However, it seems that the error lies somewhere else, judging from the log (that I finally found). Not even the browser part of Impulse is displaying, just the installed software (read from the registry, I suppose).

So, any connectivity issues, Stardock? ;)

Same problem here, signed up for an account so I could get some Sins updates but as soon as i try and login to Impulse it just sits there on Verifying. My credentials work fine for this forum though..

The impulse servers seem to be acting up.  We are looking into it now.;

Yeah, I just updated Demigod but couldn't log in when it was done.  Then I went and tried Impulse, and that couldn't login either.  So looks like it's a Stardock issue.

Seriously, take your time, I just wanted to make sure that there's nothing wrong with my installation.
