Deskscapes pauses (but can't unpause) or goes to a black screen after certain activites

Notably, any time Vista forces basic mode and then goes back to normal and a large number of fullscreen apps that take focus. This happens for both video dreams and for real-time dreams.

I'm on Vista Premium, I have a Windows Experience Index of 5.0, and the dwm service runs normally. Anything else I need to mention?

this has happened to me ever since i installed vista and appears to be a fault with the operating system and not deskscapes because it happens when deskscapes is not installed and just using dreamscene(vista ultimate).

I`ve learned to live with it and just re start the dreams.
