Focus Fire

So how you you all use focus fire. Do you have all ships hit one at a time or do you have several handfulls of ships hitting one at a time? If so how do you prioritize which ships to use against which? Do you include capitals in the focus fire? Do you prioritze hitting capitals over frigates or vice versa? Thanks for whatever help! :grin:

Personally I have all my ships in groups of tens focusing on 1 target after the other that they are most effective against.

I'll put all ships of one kind on same target, based on their damage bonuses. As far as Caps are concerened, I usually leave my capital ship on the enemy capital, when it looses shields, or is at 50% hull (varies on nubmer of ships in play) I will focus fire it with everything so it has no time to run away.

I find the only units worth focus firing with are long range units and strike craft.  Everything else does just fine if left to its own devices, and you're better off micro-managing cruiser special abilities.  Strike craft have a nasty habit of, say, focus firing a Kol with adaptive shields on.  BAAAAD idea, especially when there's a fragile Hoshiko sitting next to it.  Fighters tend to prioritize other fighters, which is what you want them to do, but once those are neutralized sending them against smaller frigates is the best use of their talents.
