Nintendo Dsi
Are you going to get the new DSi when its released? Personally I think it looks pretty cool with a 3MP camera and Wi-fi, so I probabaly will get one on the relaease day.
BTW does anyone know the release date for europe.

Nah, I have a DS Lite and like it enough that I can't justify spending more for the DSi. The DSi also apparently has less battery life and, last I heard, the cameras are actually VGA. (0.3 Megapixels)
As for Europe, I see Spring of '09 listed.

You know the DS has wifi anyway, right?
sorry I meant free downloadable internet browser
I wouldn't get it myself personaly.
One its has a pathetic camera, my cellphone has a better camra, my pda from 7 years ago had a 1.3mp camera
Two there is realy no difference between the dsi and ds lite, yeah it has the internet so what, and they got rid of the gba card slot, what idiots, they should of just added a micro sd card slot a the top with the game sd slot for the bonus space.
DSI is not a big step forward when you compare it to it's competitors. My three kids have a DS and I am not about to change it for them.
The DS/DS Lites only support WEP, and Nintendo hasn't deigned to do a firmware update for WPA/WPA2. The DSi does both out of the box.
yeah, that is my situation. I want to upgrade to WPA (my DS is the only thing holding me back)
My other problem is the DSi is regionlocked. Sure, it may only be for the downloadable content, but that is STILL region locking. The wii locks out my out of region DS games that have wii connectivity, so who know what that could eventually mean for the DSi. People say "oh, the old DS games will not be region locked" but what about the NEW DS games. Games that take advantage of the camura or other such features. downloadable content that uses DS game connectivity or Wii connectivity. These will be region locked, and that is BS.
Region locking is the most stupid idea I have ever heard, and I think I may have to not-buy the DS out of protest. I understand DRM, like there is a logical purpose behind it. I see no reasonable excuse for region locking video games. It used to be a format thing, so your US system didn't fail to play on your PAL TV. And on movies it matters because of licencing. But DS games don't have that problem. They only do it for lawsuit purposes because rating in different regions are different, but that doesn't make sense. nintendo bombards users with more disclaimers than any other company I know. Simply adding "not intended for use outside of its region" should cover that right? What complete BS to deny us access
The only problem, is so few people are going to let that STOP them from buying the DSi that it won't change their minds. And if the DSi only games are actually really good, I'll probebly cave as well. Its not fair ![]()
From what I heard, the lower battery life comes from a faster processor inside it or something. It's also thinner, has slightly larger screens (I think) and no GBA slot. The no GBA slot is a real negative for me, especially with DS games that can used GBA games for extra content. It was like when my original GBA died and I bought the SP only to find my e-reader, which wasn't that good anyways, couldn't be used on it. :c
A faster processor? They might as well release a whole new DS since once you mess with the components on a system with any upgrade it makes that system able to display better graphics, or more stuff on the screen etc. The DSi was released to stop pirates only, and the homebrew community. I for one use the M3 DS Simply to organize my games but I buy my games as well since I don't support pirates. Once the DSi is released it means no more M3 or R4 or TT or any other slot 1 or slot 2 card. All I can say is I'm keeping my Lite and *UCK YOU NINTENDO!
