Corrupt Window Blinds

I have had Vista now for about 3 months. About two months ago I noticed that when I opened Stardock Central or Win Customize browser that there weren't any new skins or updates EVER. I thought that odd, that no one was uploading any new skins etc. And to this day I haven't seen anything new for me to download. I also noticed that my computer kept freezing but I didn't know what to attribute that to. So the last time I got one of those little pop-ups from Microsoft, I clicked on it and the message was that WindowBlinds was corrupt or needed to be updated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Stardock, WinCustomize and Impulse, but still no new skins, and my computer still freezes. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

Try accessing the site through your web browser....... Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox. There haven't been any new posts to the galleries since Christmas due to a server failure but that should be fixed next week.

Stardock Central has been replaced by Impulse. You can get Impulse here

Not sure why Microsoft would have any pop-ups related to Windowblinds but once you install Impulse, update Windowblinds. Be sure to turn off Windows Defender and any third party Anti-virus when updating/installing thru impulse.

I have to agree with Lantec, there is no reason you should get a pop-up from Microsoft that something is wrong with WindowBlinds.  Not sure if you have a new computer or just have loaded Vista but I would recommend the following, uninstall WindowBlinds (remember to set back to default skin), run a clean up programs like CCleaner and reboot.  Before reinstalling WindowBlinds I would run scans with what ever anit-virus and anti-malware software you have installed.  Once you do that I would then create a system restore point and then reinstall WindowBlinds.

I suggest the above as a precaution.  It's possibly that you may have pick up a 'nasty' somewheres.  If your computer still freezes then there might be another cause, possibly another program.
