Download Not Working!

I just paid for GalCiv II, downloaded and installed Impulse, followed the instructions on the email, and GalCiv II won't download.  It says "Preparing to Download" and then after about a minute or so, it errors out and says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

What gives?  Why is this being made so difficult?  What do I have to do now.

Note: I already went into Windows security and set Impulse to have an exception for the firewall.

Impulse experiences some server issues earlier today that have resulted in some problems with downloads.  Our server gurus are working on the issue, and we expect to have things sorted out soon.  But since it's Christmas Eve, this may not be an immediate fix.

Right now, please try to be patient as we work things out.  If the problem persists past Dec 26th, please email support@stardock.com

I am facing the same problem with same error message, since yesterday: "Object reference not set...bla bla bla". What a shame, Stardock guys! Did I read it correctly? If the problem persists we need to send an email to your support team??? Considering the download mechanism is the core of your business model, having a server problem causing all this trouble to customers is unaceptable (customers should suit the company for selling software without delivering it...).

A server or something went Bang on Xmas eve... Downloading doesn't work at min.. Make sure you haven't been charged more than once.. Quite a few people have..

Yes not being able to play something you paid for does suck but remember it is xmas.... There gonna start trying to fix it again on the 26th.

The Stardock root database server had a hardware crash on Christmas eve. The DB admins are working on restoring it but some services will be affected including customer database updating, software updating and downloading and other services.  We do not currently have an ETA to solve due to limited personnel being available on Christmas eve / Christmas day but it should be rectified within the next 48 hours.
