Galactic Resources

As you ll understand this is a newbie's question :)

So, what's with the galactic resources? Especialy the ones that are in the middle of nowhere. Are they worth mining? Do they add up to my civ? Do i simply keep sending constructors to upgrade them or i must also sent ships like freighters to...erm, "carry" the stuff back. Especialy with the economic resources. In the mission i m in i have 2, and i don't really see any finacial boost from them. Of course it might be just me.

Note that i m talking about galactic resources and not starbases with modules. And also about the ones that are far far away from my planets. I simply mine them and that's it? Do i need more starbases to stack them all the way back to my planet.

Thank You

You mine them, but you also add modules.  That boost your bonuses further.  Just keep sending constructors until you can't get a mining bonus any further.   Researching the right techs unlocks more mining modules as you keep playing.

Hmmm... Thank you for replying so fast :)

Also, one more question: If possible, where can i view the bonus i get from mining these resources?

And you say it doesn't matter how far it is from the planets i own, right?

There may be a better way, but I always just double-click on the starbases and add up all the modules.   Or, if I see (7/11) modules installed, I know that I have upgraded it all I can--but that just comes from experience.   If there was a galaxy-wide viewer that showed all the mining bonuses from your starbases, that would be totally awesome.   It's hard knowing which ones still need upgrading.

It doesn't matter how far away it is.   Although the faraway ones can be harder to defend, and war tends to hit you when you do not want it.

They are shown in your totals in the Stats & Graphs screen in the Civilization Manager window, but as they're added to the rest of your bonuses, you can't exactly tell how much you're getting specifically from them or which ones need upgrades.

There is a starbase tab on the F1 ship list, though, which I've always found sufficient for locating and upgrading starbases.
