{Suggestion} Let me know what I've selected

Hi there!

I'm new to this, actually just bought the game on a whim today, but have been stalking this game since I saw the pictures of the giant building-god thing and nearly drooled all my saliva from my mouth at the trailer.

Maddd props for all that

There's something in me that just burns when I see a chick, dressed in epic gear, sporting fire behind her, or holding it in her hands, and her hair is wisping in the wind, and her eyes are flashing (think Phoenix from X-Men).

And when I saw that in the trailer, I knew that this game was going to be GOLD.  I'd have to say that right now the game feels a bit difficult to understand what's going on.  The buildings aren't "close", for instance, that first building you buy things from is a little off in the distance.  It isn't very welcoming in terms of spatially on the map.  Secondly, I don't know when I'm selecting my character or my minoins or what have you.  I think that's what makes DotA (using wc3's excellent engine) so great.  When I select my hero A.) He talks, and B.) it shows up down below, with his face and whatever else about him.  I would like to see the minoins gets some sort of visual "I'm in your selected group" representation, via an icon somewhere.  Those green circles just don't cut it.  I need more, I feel.

I love the idea of POWER that you gave the Demigods.  In my first battle, my first swing, I swung so hard it knocked a little fighter straight back into the flag pole.  It was glorious!  Keep more of this "Wow!" stuff in there.  Let me go "This is Epic.  This is huge.  This is fire billowing in a pretty girl's fingers, and swirling around behind her in her hair."

Love the game so far, and looking forward to more builds.  Keep it epic, and remember that the word "God" is even in your game title.  Let us feel divine when we play.  For some reason, I don't feel like I'm in control, and it could be because I don't know when I'm selecting my summoned clerics/archers/whatever, or my Demigod.  (Other than those green circles). Let me feel like I'm in control.  I like the way we pick our talents, like a skill tree, but the icons all look the same, and are a tad small.  Nothing is recognizable.  DotA and the like have a great sense of visibility with icons of things.  Everything is distinct.  I know what Blood lust looks like.  I know what Shadowstep looks like in Guild Wars.  The icons are PERFECT and clear.

Camera -- If you could make it rotatable when I click the middle mouse button instead of Insert/Delete, that would be great.  Also -- can you make it so we can interact with the minimap?  I wannna be able to click the minimap and go to that location on the map.  It helps a great deal rather than zooming out, mouse-mousing the screen, zoomingback in.  That's just a tad too tedious.

Great game.  Happy Holidays, and good luck to ALL of you.  Your community supports you thoroughly.  I know I do.

I agree with not being able to recognize what you have selected.  Though I think I would prefer a WoW or other mmorpg interface when it comes to playing as assassins.  Being able to see your health, the health of who your targetting is, and a way to recognize when they're casting spells much easier is necessary.

I don't want to derail the thread to much, but one of my major complaints is that there isn't easily a way to seperate people of different skill levels based up on the skills and the interactions in the game.  Until the interface is improved, I don't thiink people could make use of good skills (spell interrupts, abilities that break stuns, or break rooting effects, that deflect enemy spells, etc).

I totally agree, especially with the similar icons. I know they're going for a specific art style there, but without some distinct highly saturated colors, with them that small they do all kinda look the same.

However the camera rotates great....just use the spacebar  hehe...and WASD works great for the camera in this build

On the note of seeing more information i think you should be able to see what item your opponents have.

I agree that there should be name displays or something.  Even for the creeps it would be nice to know what I'm targeting.

While we're on the display information topic: There definitely needs to be a way to know the health points of at least the demigod you're targeting.  Tower next, then spawns.  Tower seems easily doable too, spawns not so easy.  But it would make game play much better if there hp displays for demigods at least. You'd have a much better sense of how long you have to stand around, if it's worth chasing, sniping, etc.  I'd say tactically, it's a must.  The bars just don't cut it.  Too imprecise.
