Help w/Background

Hello everyone,

I'm new here.

A while back I downloaded WB trial version and got ahead of myself and changd some of the images and files in the Vista images folder.

Since then I purchased and installed. When I did this it kept my downloaded and changed themes. After having some problems with various styles I realized it is probably do to the changes I made in that folder. I know that some images are even missing and I didn't create a backup of the folder.

So my question is how should I go about getting a new copy of this folder and everything in it.

Thanks,

Greg

Uninstall WB and reinstall, you should have uninstalled the trial before installing the purchased version, purchased installed over trial causes problems.

Thanks for the reply Cavan,

I did uninstall first and it saved my the files that are in public docx. as they were. When I installed the paid version all my downloaded skins were still there and that's the folder that has my changed skins in as well.

hey,

I'm going to try uninstall, make sure that folder is gone and then reinstall.

I'll post if it works or not.

Uninstall, manually delete any folders left behind, reinstall. I am not sure why that folder would have been left when unistall trial or why the images where not overwritten by the fresh install.

OK

I saved what I wanted out of that folder, uninstalled ,deleted that folder and reinstalled.

I assume I've got the original Visya images folder back.

I installed some styles and still have the problems. I changed 1skin messing around to see what all WB could do. I even managed to change the background color of my Vista help and support app'

The problem is rhat no matter what style I install I got the background on help and support the same as I changed it to and the color hides some of the rext unless I highlight it.

I have even tried unloading Wb opening task manager click on show processes for all users and end the processes for WB. reload go to persanlize and reload vista, restart comp. and still have that background in the help and support.

I've tried going back and try to figure out how I got it to change in the WB style I was experimenting on and can't get it to vhange back or to anything else.

Any ideas.

Thanks

Greg

Any ideas.
End of quote

Hey Greg, not running Vista here so I have no ideas. Just hang tight and maybe someone with an answer will see your thread.

Maybe edit the thread title to better reflect the info/help you need.

Hey Cavan1,

Thanks again.

I edited the thread.

I keep trying to figure out what I did and I'm stumped.

In case it helps with ideas, this happened at the same time I made multiple changes at one time.

These changes reulted in not just Help & support background but changes to 2 areas that my surfing here at forums says WB isn,t supposed to change..

!-changed the background and text color of the tree view under folder bar in explorer windows.

2- changed the text color on the drop down menus of the navagation bar in explorer windows.

Both of the above changed back(not sure if I did it or not) and haven't figured out how to change those again. But the background of help & support never changed back to the original and can't figure out how I changed the 1st time to change back to original or anything else'

If anyone has any ideas I would like to here and give a try.

Thanks,

Greg

hey,

Somehow it solved its self. I decided to go without WB for a couple of days, so I went into services and switched WB services to manual and after a couple of daYS i noticed the help and support background reverted back to its default white.

Even though the problem is solved I'd love to know how and why, so if any of you got any ideas I'd like to hear.
