What version, if any, do I have?

When I run either Impulse or Stardock Central I find that WindoBlinds is "available" - presumably not installed. How can that be when I have been running it for at least 2 years on my current system?

The install log shows a first installation 11/16/2006, latest update 10/28/2007.

The situation is the same for WindowFX, too - first installation 11/16/2006, latest update 08/04/2008.

The "available" may be WB6?

copy the system info from the windowblinds configuration window and paste the info here. That will tell us if you have the current version installed

Well, when I hover over WindowBlinds' icon in the Tray section of my OD+ dock I get the following information:

Window Blinds 6 (6.1 (build 55 X86))

That seems to suggest that I have WB6, doesn't it?

BTW, how do I get a WindowBlinds configuration window. The only options I can see when I right click on the icon are:

 Configure WindowBlinds

Unload WindowBlinds

Configure WindowBlinds has no effect whatsoever.

you can acess WB config window directly in the WB folder in Programs, typically is , C:\Programs\Stardock\Object Desktop\Windowblinds. for XP. look for WBConfig.exe. This should open the Window Blinds Configuration window.

Any short cut to Windowblinds, like within your start menu should open WB. The window you use to change skins, is the WB configuration window.  once open go to the "system info" tab and copy the text in the window.

My WB folder, at D:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds doesn't contain any WBConfig.exe, except insofar as it does contain a wbconfig.exe.manifest, which is an XML file.

According to both Impulse and Stardock Central, neither WindowBlinds nor WindowFX is available, and when I tried to install WB6 via Stardock Central it crashed!

All the other Stardock products I have installed are correctly indicated by "Installed" or "Update available".

I tried to update WB. After the boot I get a message saying that I MUST boot for the installation to complete, so I booted, and got exactly the same message box. In the whole WindowBlinds folder, the latest modification, apart from ONE file (sig6.bin, last modified 2008-05-13), the latest modification was some time in 2007.

I'd delete the wb directory, run ccleaner, reboot, turn off your AVsoftware, install through impulse

Bichur, I hadn't actually changed any skins for several months. The only thing I had done to WB was to unload it so that I could get a decent screenshot with Gadwin PrintScreen. It was after that I first really noticed that, according to Impulse, neither WB nor WindowFX were installed, in spite of the fact that I had been running with something called Impulse for several months.

I finally re-uninstalled, fisrt emptying the WB folder - now I can configure WB, and Impulse shows it as Installed.
