where is 2.01 foe twilight

errr ... *scratches head* I don't quite get it ... what do you mean exactly ? what impulse does not find?

and if impulse shows last update as 2.01, where's the problem exactly ?

I believe you need to buy it. That is, Twilight is not just a patch. It's an expansion pack. If you download the expansion pack, you will download version 2.01. That download can be made at no extra cost if you buy the CD.

Open Impulse. Click the Explore tab. Click Games. Click Strategy. You should see GalCivII - Twilight of the Arnor listed for $29.95. Click that and you'll be given three options for purchase: 1) Digital download of Twilight for $29.95. 2) Digital Download of GalCiv II - Ultimate Bundle Pack for $59.95. 3) Twilight digital-download + CD for $29.95.

Since I already had GalCiv II Gold Edition, I chose the third option. The Twilight CD was shipped to me (cost of shipping = $10.00), and Twilight v.2.01 became listed in Impulse/MyGames.

Important! --- Before downloading Twilight, make sure you have installed GalCiv II v.1.53 and Dark Avatar version 2.01. The first time I downloaded Twilight, right after buying it, I had older versions of GalCiv II and Dark Avatar installed, and I could not open Twilight. So I used WindowsXP/ControlPanel/AddRemove to uninstall Twilight. Then I went to Impulse/MyGames and downloaded GalCiv II v.1.53 and Dark Avatar v.2.01. Finally I used My Games to download Twilight v.2.01 a second time. It now runs perfectly.

I already have all of the Gal Civ games- I had downloaded 2.0 update Nov 6 - but there was an update 2.01 Nov 25 that is supposed to be thru Impulse - I have been unable to see this listed for download? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Cobra133. I don't know if I can help. What I know for sure is that I installed and registered my GalCivII Gold Edition on Nov 28. I then bought and downloaded Twilight, which failed to install properly. At least I couldn't find a way to play it. So I used Add/Remove to uninstall it and went to Impulse/MyGames, where I downloaded-installed GalCiv II 1.53.136, Dark Avatar 2.01.107, and Twilight 2.01.030. I can now play any of those three versions of GalCivII.

Have you tried clicking the Update button on the game launcher for Twilight? I would try that. If that doesn't work, I would try reinstalling Dark Avatar and Twilight from Impulse/MyGames, hoping that the most recent versions would be downloaded-installed. I think you probably already have the most recent edition of the pre-expansion GalCiv II. If you don't, you'll get a message saying that GalCiv II has not been installed. Then you'll have to reinstall GalCiv II as well (also by using Impulse).

 Solipso- Thanks that worked-I must say that for the first time I am not very impressed with Impulse-I thought on of the advantages would be that updating would be much easier with this program
