Dual core - second core used at all ?

Hello Sins community !

I'm playing the game on my laptop, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (2x1,99 gHz). The game is running pretty smoothly, unless I'm playing large maps or medium maps with mass fleets. I've always been thinking that's because of my weak graphic card.

Recently I've noticed the following: When playing Sins, the task manager tells me that my second core isn't used at all ! My first core is running "hot" with 100% usage, and the second one is idling around. A friend of mine is playing Sins, too, and he tells me both of his core are beeing used. o_O

Which are your experiences ?

Sins runs primarily on one core; others are used only for texture loading.

I've had similar problems with other software. One thing you can do is to alter the process afinity in task manager so all of your tasks but Sins run on only one core and sins alone is set to run on both. It helps a little, but it takes a hell of a long time.

Oh, another thing to try is diabling the empire tree, just go to Menu/Options then User Interface, all the boxes in the center/right are the empire tree, this is the closest I've come to disabling it, but it significantly improved my performance, more than changing the graphics (on larger maps)
