DeskScapes 2.5 and Updated Dreams

If you are looking through the updated skin, or .dream gallery you will notice some .dreams are being updated, and they mention DeskScapes 2.5.  Winter Snow is the first example:

DeskScapes 2.5 is not out yet.  These .dreams are being updated in anticipation of the release, so I just wanted to make a note since people are starting to ask about it.

Keep an eye on WinCustomize.com as that is where you will see any upcoming DeskScapes news.

Are these changes to allow the XP folks to use the .dream skin?:-"

The updated dreams (which are all dynamic) are getting updates to support multiple monitors on XP.

Additionally some of them have new features.

Winter Snow now handles multiple monitors on Vista better too, making the snow build up on the bottom of the screen on the second screen rather than where the taskbar was on the first.

Expanding Shapes now allows you to set a custom background colour.

Photo Dream now has a static wallpaper mode where wallpapers do not move and just cross fade on changes.

Ooh YUMMY!  The addition of multiple monitor support is wonderful, thanks!

Please note that this is multiple monitor support on XP.

Deskscapes already supported multiple monitors on Vista and with Deskscapes 2.5 it continues to support it in the same way it did with 2.0.

I'm a wee bit confused, sir codemaster.  In Vista, video dreams just clone to the secondary monitor and it seems as though dynamic dreams (tested with the Updated Ovals) do precisely the same.   Yet, you mention that the new Winter Snow works differently with multiple monitors in your description of that.  So is the nature of the multiple monitors support now code/coder dependant, or am I missing something between the descriptions?

And I guess I'd also like to ask what's new in v2.5 for Vista users? :D

Support for multiple monitors has always been under the control of the dynamic dream developer.

2.5 for Vista fixes a few reported issues but any dynamic dream that works on 2.5 should work on 2.0 and produce the same results.

Thanks.  Note that I just tested your updated Ovals under DS2.0 on Vista and there seems to be no difference between the primary and secondary monitor animations.  Is that by design in that Dynamic Dream?

Yes.  The two monitors do differ on XP, but not on Vista as I didn't add support for that on Vista.

Will you be releasing anything to enable us to create dynamic dreams ? and also will .dream format support flash in the future ?

thx.
