Please fix MINI DUMPS !!!

Hi! I own the game quite a while, have over 90% of the archievements in single player, never had any problems playing single player nor crashes or anything.

This week I started to try my hands on the ICO multiplayer variant of Sins. I am using version 1.05 and I can tell you, it is a PAIN IN THE ASS.

Almost (!) every game is crashing. Either I am getting a MINI DUMP or anyone else of the other players. Sometimes it happens after 5 minutes but what really sucks is when it happens after like 60 or 90 minutes and all the fun is gone.

I really start to hate this game. Please developers take this post seriously. But how can you write everywhere this game is clean and bugfree and worth the money? Even Kalypso (German Publisher) wrote in their Forums they haven't had any technical support e-mails yet. I cannot believe that. In Lobby tons of people seem to have these crashing issues.

I don't know if this was a common problems with the previous versions too, since I never played online with any other version than 1.05.

I am reading the forums very often and I see there is a 1.1 Patch coming soon... Quite for a while its coming soon...

I think this MINI DUMPS is a very high priority to fix since it really ruins gameplay, instead of playing around with other things like the micro-addon or small balance issues (yes Illu spam sucks and I agree to reduce their dmg), but its more important that this game is playable in multiplayer.

Game is out since like 8 months and it is not acceptable for me that such huge bugs exist after such a long time after the launch of a computer game.

Hopefuly someone can drop some lines on here!

Regards,

Whity

You can't fix what isn't a problem. A mini dump is basically a fancy crash log that collects information on the state of the program execution at the time of the crash. You can't "fix" minidumps because they're the product of a crash, not the cause of it.

If you have them, send them to support@ironcladgames.com

I have sent them like 5 or 6 dumps and dxdiag and whatever...

Then the bug should be fixed. I read several posts this bug exists since release with all versions which came out. It should have been fixed already, we almost have November and the game came out in February when I am not wrong.

Whity2XLC,

Please understand what Anny is saying.  "Mini-dump" is a GENERIC term for "game crash".  IT in itself is not a bug but rather an indication that your game has crashed and contains some information which may help the DEVS determine why your game has crashed.

Since retail-release people's games have been crashing yes.  But those crashes have been due to any number of different things including out-dated drivers and other OS files, bad hardware, dodgy network connections etc.  ALL types of crashes (no matter what caused them) generate a "mini-dump" file.

Many individual causes of game-crashes have been solved since release by updating drivers, updating the game etc.  Make sure your drivers etc. are all up-to-date (keep in mind....notebook drivers are often left to the notebook manufacturers to update and when they don't.....then you might be out of luck if an old driver is causing your crash...)

The DEVS posted in another thread, that ONE cause of a game-crash (minidump) is a game variable that doesn't reset itself correctly after a game has been played (they're working hard at identifying which variable that is) and until they do, you should close the game to the desktop and restart it again before playing another SINS match.  That seems to work as a work-around for the game variable-related crash.  Keep in mind, doing that may not help if your crashes are due to out-dated drivers or the such.

They fixed one already :) Under some rare conditions buffs were being created and added to the master buff list when the game ended, so the next game started with a list already populated but referencing buffs that no longer exist.

I saw it happening some times when some ships enter an Asteroid. In this moment the game is crashing. Maybe this info can help.
