Installation woes.

I don't know if it's just my computer or what, but trying to download GalCiv II and install them is turning out to be next to impossible. I've been trying since yesterday to get it to work but nothing seems to work. I download the game and I get either an error message telling me that there's no space which is nonsense considering there's half a terrabyte of storage left on the harddrive I'm installing it in (Almost 150GB for my Windows installation HDD) and the other error is some file is missing and it refuses to install even after the download was validated. It's now redownloading the game yet again! I'm at my wits end here. Would it not be a whole lot easier if the file was downloaded as a fully executable file? It's going to be another twenty or thirty odd minutes before GalCiv II will be finished downloading and I'll try to get the full text of the error message then. If I get that particular error message.

[Edit] I think I may have realised my error here, I bought this: https://store.stardock.com/product.aspx?productid=ESD-TGN-W277

Is this just a pair of expansion packs or the game and a single expansion pack? If so, can I buy the original from Stardock as I can't seem to find it anywhere.

GC2 Gold is the base game and the first expansion, so it should run fine without any other requirement. If you can get the error message, please post that as it should help to find what the issue is.

The error message stats that Galactic Civilisation II is not found.

Ah. Just make sure you install DL first then, since DA requires it.

Alright, I said fuck it, uninstalled Impulse and scoured my computer of everything GalCiv II that I could find. It installed then, though I seem to get semi-frequent crashes from Impulse now, but managed to get the game and both expansions installed and working. Now, there's an update for the game game that I've tried to install but it keeps telling me that the game isn't installed when it clearly is.

I suggest trying out StarDock Central

it may change nothing to your problem though, just something to try out...

If it's giving you errors finding the game *after* it's installed, then please contact support@stardock.com for further help.
