Been checking to see if anyone else has had problems with this..I too am waiting on a fix for this. I feel better knowing I am not the only one having this problem.

Thanks

I have sent you both emails with an updated ocx in it that should resolve your problem after you go through the instructions for getting that set up.

If anyone else has an issue with this, please post here or email Stardock support at support@stardock.com (official support line).

Try following this link in Internet Explorer (Firefox and other browsers do no handle the file type correctly):

32 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat
64 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather_64.bat

save the file and run it from your machine (right click and run as administrator for Vista) and follow it's instructions.  This should resolve the issue.

Tried the instructions as told still getting error. this file does not have a program associated with it for preforming this action. create an association in the set associations control panel.

any other suggestions??

Thank you,

Dee

just tried above worked on both

did have it not working on XP at first.

So on XP First off got the install_weather MS-DOS Batch File ran that saved the next to C:\Program Files|Common Files

So had StardockWeather.ocx ActiveX control saved in   C:\programs Files\Common files that did not do anything on a reboot

So right or wrong set up that to open with GadgetLoad then double clicked it  and hit open then started working ok.

This is a quote from Zubaz on another thread dealing with a similar problem...maybe this will help...............

For anyone having trouble with the widgets, try http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat (running as admin if in Vista) and report back.

It should resolve any issues.

Try re-booting after you run the batch file. It worked for me.

I did do this and it worked! Yippee :) Thank you. For those having issues with this instruction --- when you save the install_weather.bat file, the .txt extension may get added. At least that is what happened to me. So I just removed the .text extension, then double-clicked on the .bat file and it ran. As you go through the process, it will go and download the necessary .ocx file and register the dll for you. If you watch the instructions in the cmd panel, you will see that you need to save the downloaded .ocx file in your Program Files>Common directory. If you just hit 'run' when you get the .ocx file it won't work.

I hope that helps someone :)

OK ERROR FIXED WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY BEFORE FOLLOWING THEM, SO YOU DONT DO THE WRONG THING :)

1. first download the one you need,

32 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat

64 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather_64.bat

2. make sure you install it under Program Files/Common Files/Stardock

3. when you go to Program Files/Common Files/Stardock you should now see StardockWeather.OCX and look again,

you will also see a Weather.OCX.

4. OK now DELETE the Weather.OCX, be sure it is just the Weather.OCX.

5. EMPTY YOUR TRASH BIN, so no sign of the old Weather.OCX is around!

6. RENAME your new StardockWeather.OCX to be Weather.OCX,

7. REBOOT COMPUTER.   that is it :) NO MORE ERROR!

well, it works for me lol although it might not be the right thing! lol if you dont have a Weather.ocx in your folder then i have no idea :) try one of the other solutions.
