Amazing Battle and Victory as TEC!

Extra! Extra! TEC forces have actually won a battle! Extra!

I just played a seven hour long game (Hell yeah, it was intense) as TEC. My initial fleet composed of:

1 Marza, 2 Kols, two Sovas, one Dunov, one Akkan, 50 LRM's, 40 Kodiaks, 60 Cobalts, 36 Percherons, 20 Hoshikos, 2 Protev Colonies (IDK why, just thought it would seem cool, and if the Akkan was taken down to prevent me from colonizing), 20 Gardas, 8 Krosovs, two Cieloes. Me and one of my allies (must smaller raid fleet, but good nonetheless) met with the enemy player (300+ games) at the sun. His fleet was 3 Radaince Batteships, 2 Raptures, 2 Progenitors, 2 Halcyons, 1 Revelation, 40 Destras, 20 Guardians, 10 Defense Vessels, 80 Disciples, 20 Illums (He didn't spam, like the true man he was lol j/k). It was really the number of capital ships he had under his command. Without is escorts, we could've easily annihilated him.

I engaged him while I told my ally to retreat (wouldn't stand a chance aganist him) as I took heavy damage to my Marza. It was a lvl 7, but still a hell-good ship. It survived the barrage, and helped some of my Kodiaks to decimate the enemy Halcyon. They then ordered their carries to retreatt (which created the thought in my mind it was his only Halcyon left that had escaped, which drove me to raid after the battle). I lsto several Kodiaks in the process, but managed to destroy two of the Radiance Battleships for one of my Kols.

Now we were slowly weathering away at each other's ships. My fighters tore apart their Destra Crusaders and my Hoshikos tried to repair any damaged ships as I used Armstice from my Akkan. I then destroyed the enemy Revelation (preventing him from pinging any of my planets to prevent any future raids to my planets). I destroyed most of his fleet, although the one Halcyon, one Rapture and one Radiance survived. I took surprisingly light forces but of course lost one of my warships. I built another as I launched my battle fleet to his capitol.

I was surprised and not at the same time not to find any caps there, except some Illums and Disciples as light diversionary forces.

I decimated his capitol. As his empire slowly sagged underneath him, I tried to use culture to subsue more of his planets to my empire.

As luck would have it, two of his 10 planets subdued.

Sweeping apart his defenses, it came down to an ice planet- his last planet and his newly established capitol. I found his three capital ships there, surprisingly with almost no escort shisp but a lot of Beam Platforms. I quickly destroyed the platforms as my Marza bombarded the planet. I got the rest of  my fleet to focus on the enemy Carrier. With it blowing to hell in flames, I focused upon the Rapture, a lvl 4 cap. bringing it down quickly, it all came down to the radiance- a lvl 10 death machine. Only one of my ships were lvl 9, my only surviving Kol. The rest were 8, and my newly built Kol was already a lvl 5.

It was a heated brawl between just the Radiance and Kol. He asked not to attack with my flet and I accepted. I eventually took it down, and it was promoted to lvl 10. Happy as a doe, I blew apart hsi planet and declined all efforts of peace accords and cease-fires. I wanted his planets to burn. And all during the while, my ally learned a shitload of tricks frmo me, lol.

Other than that. . . that's it. Hope you enjoyed :P Please ask question, critisize, if you must, but please discuss. :D

sent me the replay man, yvx700@aim.com.

When you are under Armistice, shouldn't all ship abilities are disabled as well?

Unless it was a glitch, no, all the abilities worked fine.

I don't have auto-record on, I need to start doing that sometime lol

hehe.. your opponent screwed up with his fleet composition probably cause he didn't scout properly.. instead of having 40 destras, 80 disciples (which are pretty crappy ships), he should've had 20 destras, 30 guardians with push ability,30 drone hosts with mixed bombers/fighters and 60 illums with all beam upgrades... I wouldn't say that's spamming as long as he would have a mixed fleet. as it was he had no drones hosts and just 10 defense vessels -- basically no counter to your 36 percherons.. it's no surprise he got raped by your fighters. drones hosts and illums are the backbone of advent fleet, they pack the biggest punch ;-)  Then it would be more of an even fight

Actually, Disciples are an excellent counter for Percherons....though they are craptastic in most every other situation.  I'm also willing to bet they were not used against the Percherons before they were all annihilated.

Where was his allies - 2v1 should always result in you winning, all else being equal....

to be entirely honest, any TEC fleet that has a large number beside the word "Cobalts" shouldn't really be listed as a herioc victory of epic proportions. I can't think of one reason to ever build cobalts, aside from 2-3 early on to help kill defenders on planets. Other than that, the LRM is cheaper, does more damage, and has way way better range.

Just as a constructive criticism comment, I would, in the future, stick to two ship types that compliment each other really well (in the case of TEC maybe 3). For example, 20 Kodiaks, 30-40 carriers, and 5-10 hoshikos. The hoshikos repair the kodiaks which should have armor and HP upgrades plus dmg upgrades, and the carriers should be stocked full of fighters to take out bombers and LRFs (bombers being the only viable threat to Heavy Cruisers and LRFs being the most commonly used ship type in the game at the moment). Only 1 capital ship is necessary, probably an akkan because the colonize ability allows a quick start. MAYBE a marza if it's a smaller map for the Raze Planet, which is almost as good as the Egg's Drain Planet, but arrives much quicker.

The Akkan also has an ion bolt ability, useful for stopping cap ships with lots of useful abilities, IE Advent capital ships.

You could have the fleet I'm talking about much much much much  sooner than yours, and it would steamroll through the map pretty effectively. Use the Kodiaks as a meatshield while keeping the carriers at the other side of the gravity well. Use the akkan to both bomb the planet and then take it over, putting up repair bays and more frigate factories to replace lost ships and heal the ones you still have after the fight.
