Stupid monitors and dumb glitches

So, I'm playing around in sins, finally got a decent empire of 20 or so planets built up, but my computer is getting another symptom of the stupid virus in the form of misinformation.

After anywhere between 20 and 50 minutes of sustained playing, my screen goes black and a little bubble starts floating around saying "you're not at optimum settings. 1680X1050 @ 60Hz is optimum".... and it will not go away no matter what I do, save restart the computer. The only thing that's making my stupid-radar light up like a christmas tree is..... I AM on those exact settings, both on my desktop and in the game.....

Does anyone know what the poop is going on or what can remedy this pandemic of idiocy? XD

I'm using a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW, if it helps :P

What's your video card, and are the drivers up to date? :P Also if your monitor came with a cd make sure you install its drivers from it, rather than using Windows generic.

If you're using Vista, it sounds like a driver failure/reset. Updating to the latest should sort that if so.

Sorry for my English

You have only one solution :

you must look at inside the configuration menu on your monitor.

there is maybe one option for not display this message.

This message "you're not at optimum settings. 1680X1050 @ 60Hz is optimum" come from only of your monitor.
