Irritating Bug

Arnorian Battlecruiser speed bug

I just bought the Arnor update this weekend and was enjoying the campaign immensely until I got to the mission where the Galaxy is filled with Yor that I have to eradicate. I have this great Battlecruiser with great weapons and defences but I just found a bug that really irritates me. My race has a speed of +10 and my battlecruiser starts off with a range of 11 moves but after a turn or two, it drops down to the default value of 3 for the race. My survey ship also dropped down to 3 moves for a couple of turns, then jumped back up to 7, With a range of 3, this mission is essentially unplayable. Has anyone else encountered this bug?

As a programmer myself, it seems to me that one of the developers is accessing the wong variable in the code that moves the ships.  Whatever the cause, it's makeing me very irritated and makes me want my money back.

The YOR have the Super-Ability (Super Isolationists) that anyone who moves through their space has their speed droped by 2 (in sand box mode).

It sounds like it is affecting the campaign also. Maybe the ability is beefed up for the campaign.

Take a look and see if your speed is only dropping when in their space.

In my experience, because of the YOR super-ability, all of my ships have only 3 movement points while in their sphere of influence (purple) regardless of the normal speed of the ship.

If it dropped by 2, that wouldn't be bad. It would still be 9. The thing is: I was playing the same campaign the day before and my speed was OK from one end of the map to the other. I made a few bad research decisions in the campaign and was getting nowhere so I restarted  and that's when the speed drop happened. But I will move back to my own space and see if anything changes.

Correction: The Yor super ability restricts ships to 3pc/wk within their borders, not X-2.  (Note: This ability is in DA as well, but not DL.)

Additional correction: This reduction in movement does not take place until your ships have been in Yor space for at least one turn (moving through in a given turn won't cause it, but stopping there and moving further into or out of the next turn will).

Super Isolationist is such a great ability - until you're trying to fight the Yor.

Soultion: Get influence Starbases, a lot of them.  Super Isolationist only occurs in Yor influence.

Thanx for the clarification

So the best way to fight them in this instance is to start the week at the edge of their influence, rush in to attack a planet and then send in troops to take that planet.  Nip away at the edges of their empire and it isn't too bad.  In a sandbox game that the Yor are dominating, I just don't build high speed ships for the cost of more weapons :)

Hit and run tactics also work great vs them, just try to make sure you start the week off outside of their space otr can get back there reasonably quick.
