2 players on LAN with only one Impulse account?

I was thinking about dragging my computer around to a friend's place to play Demigod, but he hasn't preordered. Would I be able to use my Impulse account on his computer as well as mine to play this with him?

I just thought I'd find out before going to the effort of shifting my computer...

You should be able to I would think. Since after a game is downloaded and installed, it is unlocked to that computer. You would just need to install impuse on your friend's PC, use your impulse account to download the beta. The game can then be launched without signing in to Impulse on his PC.

you don't need to download it again, you can just archive the download on your computer then extract that on your friend's computer and activate it using impulse

Yeah, I'd just transfer the archive. No point wasting resources to download it again. I was just wondering if it had a check to prevent the same account being in the same game twice. I guess I'll just try it and find out.

Not for LAN I'd have thought.

I think you can have 2 people do it on impulse and do a lan but that's the max I think.  Not sure.

This was asked before and i forgot the exact answere.

You don't actually have to launch the game through Impulse. If you go to the bin folder inside your game folder (by default C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin), you'll find the actual exe for the game. Go ahead and load the game from there without having Impulse running (or create a shortcut on your desktop), and you can run the game in LAN mode across multiple computers without going through Impulse.

Thanks.

I'm aware that Impulse isn't required to run Stardock games. It'd still "key" the game to my account when downloading/activating though. I'd be trying to use this same copy on two computers and most games don't allow this. I was just wondering if the beta was protected like this or not, or whether it allows more than one person per key on a LAN (like Sins of a Solar Empire).

I'll just try it and find out.
