there is a 1.99c Beta out currently on Impulse.  It includes: the updated manual, all the campaigns, the new espionage engine, and map settings for extreme worlds and random events.

There was one item in particular I found interesting in the manual- the Courage ability description.  Before it has always been listed as an under-the-hood advantage given to soldiers in a close land battle.  The new TA manual lists it as a weapons bonus given to a ship in battle when facing a superior foe, with the bonus being determined by the strength of the enemy ship.   Interesting to know, wonder if that's what it really is, cuz that's kinda cool if so.

I found out that the description was incorrect some time ago. I was looking over the debug.err when I noticed that the game would check for Courage before any ship to ship battle. It's now part of any game I set up. Nice to know how it works, though.
