DesktopX not finding folders/executables

Windows cannot find "...\DesktopX\Themes" and Objects...and WidgetMaster.exe...and DesktopXBuilder.exe

http://www.willyowebs.com/desktopx_issue/

Purchased ObjectDesktop yesterday from Stardock.  Installed DesktopX on Vista 64-bit and did a fresh boot.  Though Impulse is working find and other apps such as LogonStudio, I get the following error if I click any of the 4 buttons within the DesktopX interface...

"Windows cannot find 'C:\PROGRA~2\Stardock\OBJECT~1\DesktopX\[folder/exe]'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

Where [folder/exe] is one of the following depending on which button was clicked...

     Themes
     Objects
     WidgetManager.exe
     DesktopX Builder.exe

If I go to START/RUN and submit c:\PROGRA~2\Stardock\OBJECT~1\DesktopX, explorer brings up the folder fine and all of the above appear respectively as either folders or executables.

This occurs whether I kick off DesktopX from within Impulse or from the windows start menu.

I've even tried running DesktopX from start menu selecting Run As Administrator.

OS: Vista Ultimate 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001
Machine: HP Touchsmart IQ506, 64-bit, Intel Core Duo
Mem: 4Gb

Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

I have XP but, launching from the start panel all programs list I go to Stardock -> Object Desktop -> DesktopX which launches this:

"C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Welcome.exe"

Welcome.exe is an included DesktopX program launcher.  Have you right clicked on the link to check it's properties?  If you have the Welcome.exe in your DesktopX directory try reseting the link's path in properties to point to it.

Thanks BDBF.  The properties listed...

     C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX

Which is indeed where Welcome.exe (and the folders and executables that DesktopX cannot seem to find)

I changed these references to C:\PROGRA~2\Stardock\OBJECT~1\DesktopX

...but no joy. :(

Sounds like possibly something didn't get installed right.  Check back on Monday, today it isn't possible to de-install and re-install because impulse servers are down.  If you can't get assistance on Monday with this here on the forums and have the problem resolved then I would send an email to support@stardock.com.  Or, if you haven't already done so and that's what you want to do then you can do that now.

Sorry this idea didn't work.  But, I'm thinking someone in support really needs to look at this.  They might more readily recognize what's wrong and find the right solution.  Good luck!

Finally had time to continue debugging the situation.  Ended up having it perform successfully after completely installing al Starock and WinCustomize utilities, cleaning registry, rebooting and reinstalling.

Thx for your willingness to help BDBF.

Peace.
