Want a Tournament?

Hello,

I'm a forum owner that just opened up...

SINS was going to be one of my bases for getting gamers to my community, and I'm still planning on doing so, even though my merger with sinsladder.com did not work out (thirdprophecy seems afk forever). But we're still planning on getting SINS gamers and making tournaments and possible future ladders available.

Anyways...
We're interested in SINS gamers ideas for a tournament...

If you'd like to participate or maybe give your insight to the tournament then please visit here: http://www.pgnation.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=190

I will rarely check-up on this actual thread more-or-less ... So comments here may not be seen by myself for some time..

Thanks,

And I'd like to get more things going for SINS if you guys are interested :)

bumping this...

Anyone interested at all?

If we get a turnout of 32+ players I'll be including a worthwhile prize ... (still to be determined, but it'll be worth something)

If we have less than 32, the prize(s) will just be smaller...

You had to make a new account name in order to keep spamming the forums, constantly for this?  You might not be able to make much money doing this, but you can probably make a lot of spam!

I didn't make a new account for this...

I've been a member of this forum for a while, i cannot remember when I joined, but I haven't ever been active because this forum really isn't active compared to others I use.

Isn't spam either ... It's actually something that will be going on in the community if you were interested. Obviously all you're interested in doing is attempting to ruin something that could be great. We're working on getting a ladder system if you wanted to know... and if you ever played online you'd know that there's no ratings and many people want this.

Please don't insult someone for advertising something that would get tournaments, ladders, and other things for a community that would greatly appreciate it.

Timing is a bit bad in all honesty with the 1.1 transition.

3rd prophs attempt at a competitive arena failed during a time when there were quite a few hardcore gamers playing the game on a regular basis. Whats different about this , that will make it a success during a time when most hardcore gamers have left the scene and we are getting more a conveyor belt of casual gamers with only a parting interest in online play before they move on...

Well 3rd Prop had cancelled doing anything with his ladder prettymuch when he had agreed to merge with me.

And I haven't seen him online since. If anyone would know how to contact them please tell me also... because I've used all the ways I've known how and nothing has gotten through to him.

What do you think would be a good idea for a SINS community to get members and activity? We're willing to do many options for this and other games and are happy for new insight. Tournaments sounded like the best way to start something like this.

"What do you think would be a good idea for a SINS community to get members and activity?"

Helpful, inciteful, active, fun clans.

This idea will = EPIC fail!

Honestly, that's what I see happening at this point.

Hazords attempts are valiant imo. Anyone willing to devote time and prizes to improve a community deserves better replies. However I cant help but think that the regular online community in sins nowadays have the feeling of despair that sins online isnt very strong and its becoming "sad" to be a regular sins players . I sometimes contemplate why bother with clan activity and improving my skills to win tournys and such in sins , when I can be doing it in a much more competitive game such as Starcraft where the rewards for being a regular who partakes in tournaments are better.

With this tournament which in all honesty has very little chance of fruition  , its just rubbing salt in the wounds. Yes , we have the type of people willing to go that extra mile , such as hazord for this community but Sadly with all the minidumps , hosting problems and actual design of the game (not anyones fault) , this game was never going to be the online staple diet that regulars hoped it would be.

Still , treat sins as a fun pug game. No reputations , just startup a game once inawhile , join a bunch of strangers and hope nobody quits. :)

Let me restate that:

It would be awesome to see the Sins community back in force and it would also be amazing if this tourny could do that, but, at least at this point,  I don't really see that happening.

Oh, and Haz, it wasn't anything personal.

If anyone reads this topic and wants to see the SoaSE community revitalized, please sign up for the tourny.

At this point, I just hope that there are still people to play with six months from now.

I think you guys are being a bit hard on the mp comunity. In 1.05 there consistantly 70 to 80 peeps playing or in lobby. The weekend is almost double. Well sins isn't the type of game you can play multiple games a day and do anything else.

In the beta test not so much. Always hard to find a game.

I'd just like to be able to fire up ICO and see open games..... Seems every time I sign in, there's a handful of people sitting around in the lobby but actually AFK, and there are a couple of games open, but are either full or password protected......

Unfortunatley, most of the people who play this game seem to have no interest in online multiplayer, which is sad because they'd have a much greater challenge and more interesting games.
