Resolution question

Someone suggested WindowBlinds for the issue i have stated below.  Can this be accomplished or is there another application that will allow me to do this?

When you decrease the size of your screen resolution (i.e., from 1024x768 to 800x600), all of the application windows, fonts, etc increase in size.  I always joked that lower screen resolutions were for older people with bad sight.  But I've run into a problem.  I've hooked up a computer to my HD TV and its native resolution is 1900x1200.  While this looks amazing for video, I can't read a single thing on the screen (font & application size).  I've increased the font via the display properties under the appearance tab, but a good portion of headers and generally, window size is still so small, that i have to walk up to the TV to read it.  Does anyone know of a 3rd party application that will allow me to increase the size of windows and fonts but still keep the native resolution of the TV?

Check the settings on your Video Card.......You will probably have the ability to set 720i 720p 1080i 1080p

720 will likely give you the largest TV font display. You will probably need to look into the "Advanced" settings.

Ok, stupid question, but if I set it to 720, will that affect watching online movies or tv resolution at all (thus suffering in quality)?

Yes it would. You'll get better movie picture from 1080. It might be best to switch back and forth depending on what you want to do.

edit: listen to the pro :)

I'll give that a try.  Will any of the Stardock apps enhance that any?  or make it easier to manage?

I'm not aware of one aimed at the computer-tv relationship but Object Desktop will definitely "Enhance" what you see on the screen whether on the TV or on your monitor.
