Installation never completes upon reboot

After I ran the WindowBlinds installer, it told me to reboot, so I did.  When I logged back in, the same message telling me to reboot appeared again, even on a fresh install of Vista (I reformatted my hard drive not two hours ago).  I have no "registry safety" programs the message refers to, and I have yet to install Ad-Aware, though I'll probably download that next.

CursorFX installed fine for me.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.  WB has worked on my XP rig in the past and I love being able to swap out aesthetics so easily.  :)  So I want to get it working right.

and PremiumPlus if you didn't use Impulse to install I would suggest using that.  Uninstall WB and run a clean up program like CCleaner and reboot.  Then download Impulse from here  http://www.impulsedriven.com/ and reinstall WB and then reboot again.

Andique2 not sure what to suggest for the trial version.  Are you sure you haven't reached your time limit?

Yeah, but then I have to buy it first.  I don't really want to pay for the software if it won't install.  I'm trying to download the demo.  Make sure it works.  THEN I'll pay for it.  But until then, I'm not too sure I want to be out the $20 for software that won't install.

If I try to download the demo through Impulse, it just takes me to a page in my browser.  That's different than buying it through Impulse correct?

PremiumPlus you are probably correct, I don't think you can download the demo through Impulse.  Did you get the link for the demo from the Stardock site?

I did.  I've tried an uninstall/CCleaner, reboot, and I still get the same message.

I have not problem paying $20, but I just don't want to pay it for software that won't work ya know?

My telling you that it works fine just isn't going to cut it.  Nothing like seeing the program work to see if you want it.  Wish I had another suggestion.

Maybe a Stardock rep will make an appearance and have the fix for you.

What's odd is that it was working fine yesterday before I reinstalled Windows.  Now suddenly it doesn't work.  That's what I don't get.

Hello

Excuse my English, but i am from Germany . It happens Yesterday between the Changes of two Visual Styles . I installed WB 6 for 5 Days ,so i had 25 Days to try it . Suddenly there was this Message to reboot and after that the same Message again . Then i tried many Things like install and uninstall or a few Reconfiguration of System (? in German : Systemwiederherstellung ) and so on , alsso CCleaner . It doesn't work ; single or in the Thememanager .X| And so i made a new Installation of Windows XP and as a first step , i installed WB 6 . No , it doesn't work .

I done this with Impulse : No.

Now , i have WB 5 and it works . But my favourite Visual Style " Dragon " has no Dragon on the StartmenueX( .

But i can do some . I am thinking to buy WB6 , but so ? I don't Know .

All good Andique2

I am having the same issue.  I was on day 3 of the trial.  It was working fine until yesterday.  I upgrades my Office to Office 2007 and it went to Classic view.  I couldn't launch WindowBlinds, so I uninstalled and reinstalled.  Now I get the reboot message over and over.  I wonder it there was a Windows update that affected us?

Exactly the same problem here. Is what Philly0381 says the only solution to the problem..? I'll try it...

Must say I'm pretty disapointed with the level of support from Stardock.  No response to my emails, and it's been WELL over 48 hours.

I guess they don't care if I buy their product or not.  Ah well.

Relax... I think it's a must-buy product, having been a user of an older WB version for many months. I think we have to wait for the update.

So it's just the trail version? If I just buy and install the latest version, it will work?

So it's just the trailversion?

Yes and a new update to the trial will be available shortly as indicated in the other post.
