Problem with Cap Experience

What's Wrong?

I rarely look at the XP of a cap ship I have just to compare it to see the probablility of it winning. Of course, I do upgrade and stuff.

Earlier, I was playing as the only Advent. I had a lvl Four Rapture and Four Halcyon. I couldn't raise it's level any higher.

Yet, my Vasari and TEC allies had lvl 6 ships.

Did I do something wrong, or do the Advent have lower-experienced ships? Or is it a glitch?

Thanks.

There should be an entry in thereaserch tree that allows you to upgrade past normal levels of cap ship experiance.

I play as TEC, so I dont know where advents is, but in TEC its towards the end of the civilian tree I think.

Upgrades (ie paying credits for levels) can only bring a capital ship to level 4 (with Basic Crew Training researched), combat experience is the only method for experience past that.

Basic Crew Training is Tier 6 Civilian for TEC, Tier 4 Hostility for Advent, and Tier 3 Warfare for Vasari.

The Advent actually have an easier time amassing experienced capital ships if they can get Mass Transcendence researched (though from what I've read, getting to Tier 8 tech is next to impossible in multiplayer).

Or did you simply not notice your allies' capital ships gain combat experience?

So, if you buy just one level for a cap to upgrade, it can't get past the boundary? Or would you have to buy all of them for that?

For TEC you can buy one two, three, four or none levels for your capital ship. Every ship info pane has the info on the ship's experience level, and the next level experience treshold. If the enemy ship looks big and scary, you can always bash some more pirates and make your own BB look big and scary too :)

Just keep fighting and make sure your capships retreat if they get hurt.
