Hoshikos and Cielos

How do you manage these things' abilities?  For Hoshikos, is it better to keep Repair Bots or Demo Bots on, or both, and same for Cielos and their two abilities.  On that note, do people here think that Cielos are even worth using?

I usually don't even research demo bots for Hoshikos, since I just want them for repair. I like a few Cielos in my fleet, not too many. They don't get targeted much and even though their shield restore ability isn't all that great in the thick of combat, making enemy capitals take more damage from your whole fleet comes in handy ;)

Yeah. biggest amount of Cielos I've had at one time was only about 20, about 6 in each fleet.

In the end game, I tend to have 20 Hoshikos per fleet, and just let them do what they want.

I also include 5 to 10 Cielos, just for focussing the fleets a bit.

The downside of Hoshikos, is that when you move a fleet around, they tend to lag behind, as they have a habit of wanting to fix anything they come accross on the way. So they are always the last to jump in at the destination and sometimes well and truely late. They also tend to be a bit vulnerable in mid game, especially if you dont have them in numbers.

Cielos are pretty useless combat wise, but as such, very rarely seem to be targetted. But having a few in the fleet does seem to make the fleet much more effective. Again, I tend to only use them in end game fleets, especially when the oposing fleets are very big.

TEC fleets have low damage output, that's why you need the Hoshikos and Cielos to grind down your enemies, literately.  If you like to win research the demo bots, they lower the hostile fleets' rate of fire.

Is there anywhere that one can find data about exactly what the abilities do, i.e., exactly how many hull points the Hoshiko's Repair Bots restores and how quickly, vs exactly how much the Demo Bots slow down enemy fire?

Best place is the .entity file if the info box doesn't show it.

If I remember correctly, Repair Bots restores 20.0 hull/sec over 20 seconds and Demolition Bots disables weapons and reduces max speed and acceleration by 100% for 60 seconds.

Its funny cause I once had a huge fleet of Cielos (At least 60 to 70) Supported by 50 Hoshikos. I downed a Radiance Battleship, it was so funny xD

Cielos don't feel very usefull to me. I have used them once and a while but they only seem to help slightly.

are there any good strategys for cielos

The targeting ability they get is awesome for increased damage.

Yeah, i normally just shove a few into my fleet if I have the cap, they only take 4 cap i believe so having some wont significantly cripple your fleet even if their effect is minimal. As for the Hoshiko I do tend to keep a good few of those with my fleets although I use them mainly for repairing rather than demobots. I had a large fleet once supported by 15 hoshiko, 15 flakfrigates and 5 or so cielos and I was amazed at how much the overall effectiveness of my fleet increased.

You know what's funny to me:  1 Vasari capship or 1 Advent capship can heal AoE and 1 Advent capship can increase damage output, but for TEC to do anything, they have to build frigates, and it isn't AoE.

That's funny if you ask me.  I laugh at TEC.  The Vasari empire with pwn your ship-to-ship abilities and lack of good capships.

idk frigs are easily replaced and much easier to split up. rather then having a limited number of caps

besides TEC is all about the econ and production.

I agree, sure vasari will kill tec ship in 1v1 but tec stuff should be more spammable. I am a much better tec player than vasari
