[Gameplay] Level cap?

I'm not actually sure if this is a bug or just a limitation being imposed on the first beta, but I can't reach level 26. When I mouse over teh exp bar it shows how much experience I need to reach 26, but after reaching that number, and even exceeding it, I stil haven't leveled.

I think it is intentionally capped at level 25.

Well the level cap should be level 25.

So ti's a bug.

The bug is that the exp keeps increasing.

Seems moer that it's saying you can reach 26 but you can't.  The bar should change to hsow you're max level at 25.

That's what I meant, sorry

I believe that the level 25 cap is only on the Beta 1. I think it will increase later.

Well in all games i played in the last days - which were quite a bunch of - the highest lvl i reached was lv 23. So i think lv 25 is more than enough.

Dont see any particular reason to increase the cap afterwards.

So long, Aspartem :snowman:

Now that I've checked, the achievement for reaching level 30 is a single player achievement.

single player cuold very well play very differently, like what they're doing in DoW2.

Should mean 30 is possible in multiplayer as well then. It'd be a little strange to have the multiplayer cap be lower than SP. Non-persistent, perhaps, one or the other may take more XP, but I can't see why the cap would be different between the modes. Would just make what you learn in each mode irrelevant to the other.

I doubt the cap is set in stone at this point though. Still early in the process. :)

Why is that?

I'd bet that in single player you start at level 1 and your levels save between games, and you probably level slower.  Max level could be much higher.
But in multiplayer it's the "correct" way ;p

Why would max level be much higher, or higher at all? That would result in your Demigod having many more skill points available than in multiplayer, so SP builds would have no correlation at all to MP. More importantly you would be able to get skill combinations that you wouldn't be able to get in multiplayer, or you'd have to have entirely different skill trees.

It'd double (or more) the balancing work to get it done right and you end up with SP players wondering why MP is so gimped, etc.

I'm not seeing where the benefit would be, and you're not explaining why you think they'd do it that way. I can't think of any games where the fundamental gameplay changes that much between MP and SP. I'm not saying they don't exist, but they'd be the exception rather than the rule...

Because it's not intended to play the same as the multiplayer matches?..  And balance doesn't matter as much in single player, anyways.
