Scroll Wheel and Sound issues

As a PC Gamer for nearly 20 years, I am becoming more dissolusioned with the amount of games that require several hours of investigation and patching before they work as they should. My issues with this game are twofold. Firstly the scroll wheel on my logitech mouse doesn't work and secondly my sound is at very best choppy to no sound at at all. I have searchd through the forum to find a solution to these issues to no avail. There is one particular post regarding sound with a six step process which I have followed but have had no success, and as for the mouse I have used an old spare mouse which does work, but i wish to use my existing cordless mouse.
These issues are nothing to do with my computer, but the game itself. I have no sound or mouse issues with the hundred or so other games I own just this. I have all the latest drivers etc, game is patched to 1.05 and I am at a loss. I am quite frustrated because this game remains unuseable until my issues are resolved.
Sorry for the rant but when I pay for my game I just expext them to work, nothing more. I would be really grateful if anyone could offer any advice on how to get my sound working and also my mouse thank in advance.
Soundcard is Audgy 2 and Logitech cordless mouse
