Starting programs from the Dock changes the theme to Windows Basic

I know it's not a RAM problem because I can load them just fine from the start menu.

Hmmm, I use ObjectDock Plus and have never heard of that or have it happen to me.

What OS? ObjectDock or ObjectDock Plus?

Just to be sure I understand, when you start a program from the dock, it changes the WindowBlinds skin back to basic? What program?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium, with ObjectDock Plus 1.9. I'm not using WindowBlinds, it changes the whole theme from Aero to Basic.

Now that is really strange. Does starting any program do this?

You might just have a bad download. You may want to unistall ObjectDock Plus, run a clean up program like CCleaner, run a registry cleaner, reboot and reinstall and reboot one more time.

If that doesn't clear it up you then should email support#stardock.com.

I completely removed the program, ran Ccleaner a few times over (both junk files and registry scans). Rebooted, installed, rebooted again, and still have the same problem.

RayUltima what programs are you starting from the dock the causes this to happen? Is it just one a couple or all?  :NOTSURE:

All of them except Firefox. I've been testing with iTunes. Even with firefox though, the appearance of the browser itself is different. I'll take a screen in a sec.

That's what Firefox looks like when opened from the Dock. For other programs, it causes the reverse in theme (aero to Basic).

I found the culprit. When I looked at the properties of the objectdock.exe file, it was checked to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP for all users. I unchecked it, now things are working fine. Thanks for trying to help me though, everyone :D
