How do you make a new nation is sins of a solar empire?

How do you make a new nation is sins of a solar empire?  im new to modding and i downloaded the particle forge and galaxy forge but i cant figure them out.  I want to try to make a new spaceship type and have no idea how.

There's a pdf in the mod pack in the Documentation folder called SINS_modset. It has a brief tutorial on just how to make a new race and how to modify ships/build lists. :)

Not that it matters much, but shouldn't this thread go in the modding section of the Sins forum?  ;p  I guess if nobody cares then its' fine, I'm just saying.  ;)
