problem with desktop X

I have posted a request for help several times but to date have not had any replies.
I have a large and complex desktop  created with desktop X. It features a number of sub menus which open when a object controller is clicked. I have been trying to make the background for each menu a volatile popup so that I dont have to close the menu before opening a new one. However no matter how hard I try it only ever works for the first three menus that are opened, the rest wont even open at all. Even stranger if I reload the desktop and click three different menus these open and the others misbehave. I am using a shareware ( free) version of desktop X. Does this have this kind of restriction built in, is there a bug in the programme or am I being horribly stupid.... Please help as this is doing my head in  !!!!!!!!

I have asked our more resident expert on DesktopX to check in on this. It also could never hurt to contact us at support@stardock.com as we can help.
