I've recently bought DL, DA and TotA and simply love it. There is something though that bothers me a lot.

Thumbnail images, the url beneath them are for the larger images. (can't seem the get thumbnails and urls working)

Great, now who the hell are these 'Arcean' guys and how can I know about this achievement if I haven't met them yet? Should not the logical way be that I will get to know about these achievements once I get to know them?

Talking about making sense, how can I understand them? I haven't even researched the Universal Translator yet!
Remember; when encountering a new species without the Universal Translator, you get a message that you need to research it first. Should that not be the case in this situation also?

These are all known oddities and most players would consider them errors. We should push to get this fixed up in the next patch or 2.0 release. They are minor bugs functionality-wise but disrupt the immersion of the game.

Upshot of all this: no announcements/communications from other races until you have met them.

An exception might be made if the information was passed on by a third party race you both knew, but unless you were allies already this also would seem kind of odd.

Well based on the game's back story just because you haven't officially met a race in space yet doesn't mean you don't know of their existence. So its not too odd that you would get word of an amazing project through some sort of second hand source. Having them brag about their research is a little weird though.
