"String not found"

sorry for the disapointment but it doesn't mean the swimsuit of my girlfriend, but each time i try to chat in the game, would it be solo or multiplayer, when in send a message with enter , i see "string not found" message, idem for the incoming messages, would it be from AI or other player.On multiplayer lobby, same with some players but once game launched, same with every player.....

Any idea ?

with the french edition of the game of course, but i try "test" , that's english lol

Why of course? The game is available since february 2008 in english ;) And nothing in your profile shows that you could be playing the official french version.

This is odd.. so the actual messages show "String not found" instead of whatever you/AI typed?

Normally "String not found" errors mean something is goofy with the strings file that contains all the text for the game assets (button labels, names, descriptions, etc), but I've never heard of a user typed message showing up like that.

Maybe whoever did the French localization messed something up?

i fear it is the case, i installed the same version on a laptop running XP, exactly the same issue...probably i have to wait for the next patch.....tks anyway.

French version, got the same problem here.

French version is allready 1.5. :/ I may have messed up my install by applying 1.5 on it again (it's available whenever i click on the update button on the launcher).

Same problem for me also.
French version, 1.05.
I have "string not found" each time i try to speack and some time on diplomatic.

I also have the same problem when i press the "pause" key.
But i also applied the 1.5 patch on the french version of the game.

You should probably email support@ironcladgames.com, give them all the relevant info/links. They should get back to you pretty quickly.

Given it's only happening with the French localization, this is most likely a flaw in Kalypso's translated files. In which case, they will need to fix this as we don't have any rights to the localized files. So if you are having this problem, please contact Kalypso's support if you haven't already.
