Torian tech

I just played as the Torians for the first time, and noticed that they have a tech that gives them PQ+5.  Now, needless to say I was salivating at the thought of all my planets having 5 extra spaces, but as you all know, that didn't come to pass.  What exactly does this PQ+5 do then?  Is it +5%, i.e., garbage for any planet under PQ20?

I'd have to say it's 5%. That may help however if you have any other PQ bonuses and it'll be enough to topple to another tile.

i have yet to play with the torians but... that sounds a bit lame? At +5% you get aboslutely nothing for any planet under 20. it seems lame that in order to use this tech youd need to start with other PQ buffs... but whatever. i havent played with them yet so maybe im speaking too soon. I hope im wrong.

Yeah initially I was like ZOMG PQ Bonus. But as thetraviler stated, 5% is beans until you have a very high PQ planet to begin with since Stardock rounds down in these situations.

And as our esteemed canine compatriot pointed out, it's probably to be taken with other PQ bonuses, although they'd have to be tech traded for since it's the only one in the Torian tech tree.

And I gotta say it, I LOVE, just LOVE, the biosphere modulator. I never even used it to do that 72 PQ thing. I just think it's so darn handy. I steal a PQ 10, and then make one and it's a 12. Those extra tiles make a big difference across 10 planets. 2(usable)x10= equivalent of 2 more PQ 10 planets.
