Two Button Mouse?

If this question was covered before I was not able to find it, so my bad if this is a repeat.
Anyway, I'm dusting off my copy of GalCiv2 and getting back to it after a couple years. I thought I used to be able to play it with my track ball (effectivly a two button mouse) but I can not figure out how to rotate the map view.
Am I misremembering that one can do this, or do I have to find a differnt pointer device to play?
