DO Computers Cheat?

Ok, so i'm an uber noob to this game so far and I've only played two games.  Sadly my computer's graphics card is a wee bit out of date so i'm forced to play small games.  I usually play the average fleet size games (100 supply) and I play as the Advent right now.  However in most games i notice that the AIs seem to have more ships than me, like probably twice as many if not more!  How come their supply is so much higher than mine?  And how come they can field anywhere from 1-3 capital ships when i only get to field one.

AIs get extra resources on the unfair difficulty level.

I order to be allowed to build more ships/capships, you need to do another set of researches under 'fleet supply' (Or something like that) tab on the research screen.

Yes to get more capital ships you got to the research tab and it is the third button down and the top is how many capital ships and the bottom is how much fleet supply you get. =D

They are quicker then you and expand faster getting more resources. Plus they do get the upgrades to their fleet size.

Oh sweet jebus I can't believe I overlooked that. No wonder i was getting rocked and was so horribly outnumbered lmao.

Also a quick tip, the AI (At least the easy one, [Trying to improve my tactics]) likes to build only Capitals, Colonizers, and Light Friggates (The assault ones that you get from the start.
