Cursor FX Control Panel freezes after opening , send HELP!

Hey Y'all,

I just updated my trusted and beloved CursorXP which I've had with no problems at all thru 4 different computer systems ffor about 3 yrs or so, (give or take a month or 2) to the new CursorFX version 2.01, on my current laptop, running Vista Home Premium w/ SP1, and from the very first time i opened it, or tried to I should say, I've had issues :SURPRISED: .  Seems that as soon as I attempt to open the Control Panel, it opens and then immediately freezes.  I've tried to uninstall &  re-install at least 5X in the past couple days (call me consistent, or a glutton for punishment) and have seen no positive results or differences.  I have seen where there are a few folks out there in Stardockland with the same, similar or other issues they have come across with this program......my question is: has anybody out there found or know of any fix for this, because even though I can go into the folder where i backed up my cursors and actually load them (although I can't see what I am loading), I am now both SAD  (:( and DISTRAUGHT X-( that I removed a perfectly good running program for one that I can't even open properly.  I shouldn't have to hack into my own programs in order to make them work.......Anyways, sorry, I'm venting.....can anyone assist? THANX!

That used to work for me with the old version, not any more,After 11 installs I have given up on CFX.I miss it but what the hell,I asked for advice/help and got ignored since it is a free app apparently.Back to my boring old default. And that is only a workaround for a defective program anyway. How about actually FIXING CFX? Having an app that hammers your CPU cannot be a good thing! This is extremely disappointing. (:(

[Edit] Since the update to version 2.01.014 through Impulse  on 8/5/08 CFX has not crashed. If you have an older version, you may want to update it.

I am having the same problem with cursorfx-it's fricking junk. The control panel freezes up every dang time. Did the uninstall/reinstall thing more times than I care to mention. This program is not worth the 22.00 I paid for it. Money well wasted if you ask me.

Copying all the cursors from the CursorFX Themes Folder to another location and then adding those that are used most frequently, one at a time, really does work.  It is easy.  I have had the issue forever, it seems.  I should have tried this sooner.  -P

@PeteCo. If you are running Windows 7 with CFX v2.10 or prior, you can go into program files/CursorFX and right click on CursorFX.exe, select properties and set it to run in Compatibility mode for Vista SP2. If using the latest release, it would be CursorFX Control Panel.exe

This has been known to prevent the control panel from freezing up.
