Nothing as it should be...

Hello

I am having a big problem using SkinStudio 6:
After clicking on "apply" a new skin which basically should look like windows xp standard, the colors are different than in the preview.
There is red, yellow, purple...basically not really what I expected.

All override options are disabled.

Also, SkinStudio and WindowBlinds close automatically after activating a skin.

Any suggestions for my problem?

Reto

I had the same problem a while back Ireto68, and you may not like what needs to be done in order to fix it , but here goes...

1. - Make sure you backup any skin files, .wba.s, etc. first though. Also make sure you have all your serial numbers, and OD subscription numbers for re-installing later.

2. - You need to uninstall everything single piece of software designed by Stardock.

3. - Reboot your PC.

4. - Next, look into your Shared Documents folder and your Program Files folder on your hard drive in explorer. If there is a "Stardock" folder, delete it.

5. - Use a registry cleaning program to clean up any left over registry entries relating to Stardock products. A free one would be RegCure, just do an Internet search and you should find it. With most cleaners this is an easy process, and pretty well automatic.

6. - Reboot your PC again.

7. - Re-install all your Stardock software back onto your PC.

While this may seem to be a little overboard it work for me and should for you also. :)

Actually I just found out that RegCure is not free any more, so you may have to search around for a good registry cleaner, free or not. :NOTSURE:

Thanks LightStar.
That helped!

After uninstalling all Stardock programs, I used CCleaner (freeware) to verify the registry and I deleted each Stardock entry manually.
Then I installed Impulse, WindowBlinds and SkinStudio.
After testing a "blank" new skin, it appeared as it should.

I hope this is not going to change after I finish installing the other Stardock tools.
