The FreeSpace Source Code Project continues to update and debug their FS2 Open application. New updates include minor bug fixes, combat table changes, AI balancing, and typo corrections in-game. For those who don't know, FreeSpace2 was originally released in 1999, and received dozens of major gaming awards, despite not selling well. In 2004, the source code was released to the public, allowing for major modding and campaign creation with updated tech. Some of the major updates have included much improved graphics, improved weapons damage, and some truly great campaigns that rely on the SCP's innovation and moddability.
