How do I get a icon to open up my "workgroup computers" location?

Hey guys,

I just installed objectdock and what I'm having trouble with is getting a icon that opens up a window which shows the "view workgroup computers" folder. This folder would show the 4 other computers that are on my network.

When i used my quick launch icons in my windows taskbar, I had a icon that did this fine. When looking at the properties for that icon, I see this...

Target Type: PaperStreet (which is the name of my network)
Target Location: Microsoft Windows Network
Target: PaperStreet

When I go to the dock entry properties for the icon i am trying to use on objectdock for the network location, it doesn't let me select it properly. It just keeps going past the "entire network" folder option and just keeps on asking me select a folder within the network folder. I just cant stop the selection at the "paperstreet" netowork location.

I already tried to just dray my quick launch icon into the objectdock bar but for some reason, thats not working either.

Can someone please help me out with this. It would be much appericated.
Thanks much

won't take a copy/paste for the address for what you want to open?

for those odd time OD won't select a folder I want, but instead insists on selecting something within a folder, then I select something it will accept.

once it accepts it, I click back into the link line, arrow all the way to the right then start backspacing until I have it pointing to where I want it to point

Hey Bichur,

I see what your saying but it wont let me do those things. If i just put in any of the settings i found in my real windows taskbar icon for my network, which are these below...

Target Type: PaperStreet (which is the name of my network)
Target Location: Microsoft Windows Network
Target: PaperStreet

and then I copy/paste these into the OD properties, all that happens when I click on the icon, hoping for the network to show up is a error that says "Windows cannot find the "PaperStreet".Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. TO search for a file....blah blah blah."

Also when i try to do what you suggested here...

"for those odd time OD won't select a folder I want, but instead insists on selecting something within a folder, then I select something it will accept. once it accepts it, I click back into the link line, arrow all the way to the right then start backspacing until I have it pointing to where I want it to point"

I do select a file that it allows me to select, ad then the Link line in the OD properties reads something like this...

\\Willian1\Documents\1.jpg (William1 being one of the computers on my network)

Its not like I can go back and cut off the "Documents\1.jpg" part because it would only drop be back into a particular computer on my network, NOT into the location which shows all the computers on my network. If it was something like...

\\PaperStreet\Willian1\Documents\1.jpg

Then I would be able to do this.

Let me know your thoughts and if you have any other ideas to figure out a work around. If anyone else can also help with their advice, that would be great.
Thanks much
