Hang on WindowBlinds update through Impulse

I am new to Object Desktop having only purchased it a few days ago. I noticed when running Impulse that an update was available for WindowBlinds. I ran the update procedure but after the reboot I was instructed to reboot again. I tried turning off my Trendmicro Internet Security but this did not help. Neither did the Advanced option. On a whim I installed Object Desktop on my laptop and did the samething and all went well. So, I'm confused. Obviously something on the desktop PC (my primary machine) is conflicting.

Both the laptop and the PC have Trendmicro Internet Security and are similarly configured. Although the PC has many more apps. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Below are the specifics of the desktop machine:

Core 2 Duo E6600, 2GB Ram. 250GB drive.

Windows XP SP3, Trendmicro Internet Security 2008.  MSOffice 2007, Acrobat 8 Standard, Photoshop Elements 3.

Thanks a lot for any thoughts.   :)

Something to try first:

From within Impulse:

-Click the blue Help icon in the upper right.
-Choose 'Open XMLs folder (public)'
-When the folder pops up, delete any files/folders inside.
-Close this Window
-Click the blue Help icon in the upper right.
-Choose 'Open Impulse ProgramData folder'
-When the folder pops up, delete any files/folders inside.
-Close impulse and relaunch it. You may notice a long update time, which is normal as it is rebuilding the deleted info.

What versions of .net framework do you have installed? Also are you using a backup system software??-if so-what is it?
I'm wondering if there is a conflict for Impulse using something along this line. Which puts .net in check?
