Fatal Uninstall Situation

Trying to Reinstall After a Failed Drive

Evening Everyone,

I had a HD that crashed on me (My G:\) and was finally getting back to reinstalling Sins.  The autoplay gives me the option to Reinstall which looked great from the start.  I tried every option (Uninstall/Repair/Modify) from the following menu but it can't see my previous installation so it just kicks me out of the wizard.

I've tried to remove all of the Stardock/Sins info out of the registry but I'm either still missing something or there is still another problem going on.  I'd love it if I could just get past that screen and reinstall on my C drive until I get my drive back from RMA.  Any help from here on the issue would be great.

Cheers,
A-S

The only stuff in the registry relevant to Sins specifically should be HKLM\Software\Stardock\Drengin.net\sins --if you remove that key, then the installer should just give you the new install option.

I'm sorry, but how do you search for the keys? My search turns up nothing if i search my computer

The registry has to be edited via regedit (run it from start menu->run), but it's not something to do lightly if you're unfamiliar with it.

If you can uninstall normally then do that. Registry editing is only needed in the OP's case because his hard drive crashed and he can't uninstall normally.

Seeing your other post, you won't be able to since you deleted the files already, unless they're still in the Recycle Bin and you can restore them. I put a step by step for the registry editing on that other thread.
