Trouble installing WB6 under Vista x64

got stuck in reboot loop

Hi,

whatever I try to install WB6 (Not the trial version), I always get the message, that the machine must be rebooted.
I do so, but still the same. As standalone installer as well as with Stardock Central.

I tried deactivating AVG 8.0, even uninstalled it, deactivated Windows Defender, UAC is off.
Nothing worked. (Of course, I uninstalled WB 6, rebooted and reinstalled everytime.)

Any suggestions?
I tried to search the forum for similar problems, but could not find anything useful for me. :-(

My System: Intel QuadCore, 4 GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit, AVG 8 with Firewall

Your help will be really appreciated regards,
Joerg.

I would download and install Impulse: WWW Link.

Register WB in Impulse. Uninstall WB through SDC - reboot - and then use Impulse to install WB.

Impulse works very well on Vista64 and you should be able to get it to run. If not, I would suggest to open a ticket with Stardock support.

What error-message, and when, do you get?

Have you entered your email and WB-serial number into the Registration tab within Impulse? In the newest version of Impulse that tab is hidden rather well, but you can find it if you click on the second Icon from the right on the top right corner.

Registration within Impulse looks just fine, but when I try to apply a style in WB, the activation windows appears again and after entering the number it says 'maximum activations reached'.
Already contacted support via e-mail.

Many thx for your help.
