Federation and Empire

This had begun as a collection of starships based upon the Star Fleet Universe and other sources and has now evolved into the development of a full complete mod.

What you can expect to see:
9 custom major races to choose:
United Federation of Planets; Klingon Empire; Romulan Star Empire; Kzinti Hegemony; Lyran Star Empire; Hydran Kingdom; Gorn Confederation; Tholian Holdfast; and the Interstellar Concordium.

8 Custom minor races.

Custom technology trees and weapons set up for each race.
Custom player useable shipstyles for every race.

2 Custom Immense Maps: "Federation and Empire" and "The General War"

Custom Campaign: "ISC Invasion"

OMG... i just tested this f***en nice Avenger in TA and it is exactly how i expected it to be (the "top" hull seemed a bit flattened though, but that's quite alright).Now, would it be possible to make it DA compatible, also?And find a way to make these available to all races at once as either a "general" template or fixed asset without the S0_UD.. tricky schema? (Although, i can't remember where i read in the forums here about a solution to this sort of process - maybe you'd know!)And keep going with the other remaining two... Retaliator & Barracuda?Pwwweeze, plwease!?!

Making them available for each race is easy. Here is how you do it.

For example I have my Romulan Z-1 Nova Battleship.

The xml file is: Z-1Nova.xml

the cfg file is: S8_UD_Z-1Nova1.shipcfg

Currently with this set up if you played as the Thalans the ship would appear because of the prefix: S8.

Now if you made two copies of that file and renamed the prefix to S0 and S1 then the Terrans, Drengin, and Thalans would have that ship. It would look like:

S0_UD_Z-1Nova1.shipcfg
S1_UD_Z-1Nova1.shipcfg
S8_UD_Z-1Nova1.shipcfg

You don't need another .xml file because the different .shipcfg files will use the same one.

When I'm done with the Romulan ships my shipcfg file will look like:

ROM_UD_Z-1Nova1.shipcfg


To make it DA compatible I'd have to rebuild it from scratch. For some reason some of the parts are different sizes between the two expansions so it doesn't work as well as it should.

I wouldn't mind working on a few more but I need to finish up some other ones first.

Some of those ships are hard but I'll try.

Nah, the 24th century is so overrated. Why ruin a perfectly good mod with it. Ha Ha Ha. No, seriously great work man, looking forward to seeing what is next in the mod. Are you going to work on a 2nd release of the Romulans or is it full speed ahead with the Kziniti race?

Just now took a glance at my Avenger I made. With a little work I could turn that in to the Defiant class. I'll have to keep that in mind if I start messing around with 24th Century ships.

I'll try to knock out one of them as soon as the Romulan ships are done.

I'm so far behind on these I thought I'd be able to do some work on them over 4th of July but I just got assigned to work a double.

I'll see about doing the Luna class for you but Zyxpsilon may want to kick your ass from taking me away from the ships he wants.

I need to find a top view of the Luna class.



Edited: Found the top view I needed. Forgot the Luna class was the USS Titan that Captain Riker took command of.

Now you wanted 2 of the 24th Century ships. I'm assuming you have others yourself?

It DOES look a bit like the Defiant. Mythos should sue Paramount or, is it the other way around?

Btw, if you were to create all there is to find or gather patiently in the Trek world(s), i'd only hear from you sometime in the 27th. century or slightly less!

I mean, this thread is losing some posts into oblivion somehow; i thought i had written up another answer yesterday trying to "figure" if the Avenger could be made DA compatible (Not from #201 above, but another like #205 or somethin') and you even replied to that one?

Add the Avenger files I sent you and put in the DA ship folder in My Documents. It should come up but the parts will be sized wrong. You can play with it and try to fix it.

I'm having a big problem with this mod, more precisely pretty much all the ships look either messed up or are just cubes/discs.
I have TA v1.95 and have placed the files in My Games\GC2TwilightArnor and ShipCfg in GalCiv2/Twilight.
Anyone ever experienced this problem or would know how to fix it?

I have never seen this happen before? Hardware issue? Anybody have an idea on this one?

What I would suggest is to delete all trace of the ships in:
C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\

For now ignore the shipcfg folder located:
C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\ShipCfg

Ok now reload only the ships, shipstyles, shiptemplates, and the logos of the ship packs you want to:
C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\

Ok as for all those shipcfg folders in the ship pack? Ignore them. Use the backup file I uploaded here: ShipCfg Backup

ya the Section 31 starship its the seconed one after the luna ship it may be hard due to lack of information but if you just could do you best that whould be fine with me i just want those two ships. :D so if you can do your best on that one that will work thanks. Also i don't have TA so could you make my ships For DA please. if i could do this my self i whold but i can't i suck at making star trek ships. evry thing else no star trek yes.

Anyway after I load up the Romulans tomorrow I'll work on the Luna class.

I hope you realize the very smooth shapes and curves that the 24th Century ships have are very difficult to mimic with the parts that galciv2 provides.

I'll do my best but I may take a lot of creative license.

I'm sorry, I haven't explain my problem very accurately.
The mod I'm having trouble with is SF Federation Vessels 3rd Edition.
The game is working fine and individual parts look fine and so do all the ships that aren't part of Federation style. The Federation ships are either completely messed up (e.g. the only thing visible on them is the saucer section and a part or two on the back side of it turned in some crazy angle) or there aren't any parts on them at all (e.g. just the base cube).
So far nothing I tried managed to fix it :SNIFF!:

Romulan 2nd Edition uploaded to the library.

This screenshot shows that the player useable ship style works giving you the correct starting 3 ships:

Also the Federation and Empire ShipCfg backup mod had the wrong files in it. The correction is now awaiting approval.

You are correct I mispelled it but then I do have any true custom races for these races I'm making yet. I make temporary ones in fact they all start with Super Annihilator so I can make a Spore Ship Template for each race.

Correct spelling according to my Star Trek Atlas:

Romulus
Remus

However they wouldn't necessarily have the same PQ. The ones from Star Fleet Universe appear to be equally good worlds(that is until a Federation ship crashed on Remus wiping out billions in the resulting explosion).

However the ones from the normal Star Trek have Romulus as a Class M and Remus a class Q.

When I make the custom races for this mod they will have customized star systems too. For example the Gorn system will start with 3 habitable planets.

Nothing like highly detailed precision to please Trekkers_ies (-ahem), isn't it?

In CoSH, i did Fesarius a favor and gave him the spore greeny nodules (directly from TOS and not the re-mastered version since an image from this particular situation is being used for the Trade_Pic) as type of planet... but since he's a Minor race, i'll have to drop the usual trick (from XW) with my fake #12 custom(s) to load him as an extra opponent which would allow a true Homeworld for any of these!

I could really see some sort_of Rura-Pente planet (and what else!) somewhere on a special custom map in your eventual mod, also.
Besides, Ferenginar and Cardassia MUST make that cut of any Trek Majors' Homeworlds - unless, you'd decide otherwise of course.
