I am currently using  build of Window Blinds Enhanced register (v6.01 40 X 86)  I received an announcement a few days ago through Wincustomize.com that there is an new version 6.10 available.  The complete file name is:

Window Blinds 6.10.enhanced (1).1.2 DOD17.eft.  Note the extension of .eft

When I attempted to bring the file down Windows gave me the error message "Unknown File Type"  I proceeded to download the 23 meg file and then closed down my older version of Window Blinds and when I clicked on this file nothing happened other than a quick flicker on my display?

The file seems to be some sort of "Adobe" format?

My O.S. is Windows XP Home w/SP3.  I just installed SP3 about a week ago.

I have written to Stardock support twice now but sorry to say as a registered user I have not received any reply from them?

Any assistance sure would be appreciated.

John

If you have StarDock Central or Impulse installed, use it to download and install

if you don't have either, get one, register your serial and then use it to download/install/update

the .eft thing seems familiar - your using IE? seem to recall a while back after an SP update IE seemed to thing various extensions were actually something else

First ..  did you get an autoresponse? Check yoru spam/junk mail.   If not, your email may have been eaten by a spam filter.  You can be sure a case is created if you go to https://esupport.stardock.com/

But, it's a holiday in the US and Stardock is closed today (and is closed on the weekends).  It may be a few days before they get to you.

Lastly, I've never heard of a eft file type.  As a registered user, I'd download Impulse, the application manager Stardock provides, enter your serial number and then let it download WB for you.

Thanks to all for the valued and accurate input.

I did thanks to "Bichur" download and install "Stardock Central" v2.54.522(build 167) and it then automatically scanned my system and updated my Window Blinds Enhanced to the new v6.10.

I believe it also did some updating on my Wincustomize.com. I am also a registed owner of Cursor XP but at present do not have it installed on my computer thus this is probably why it didn't do any updates of this utility?
I have also noted the email address given by "Zubaz" and have updated my support website information to this new link.

Again many thanks to all who responded so quickly.
